EDUC 8750 - Seminar in Early Adolescent Issues 3 cr. This specialized course in the middle school education program gives students the opportunity to identify, explore, discuss, and reflect upon a wide variety of early adolescent issues central to the adolescent students’ education, growth and development. Background information for discussions include research results concerning environments, which support and enhance adolescents’ optimal development. Topics explored in the course may include self-esteem; family, school, and community partnerships; learning styles; social changes; and the role of the middle school teacher. Credit cannot be given for EDUC 8750 and EDUC 7300 or EDUC 7024 . This course is part of the professional licensure track, middle school.
