SPED 7950 - Physical and Medical Aspects of Working with Students with Disabilities 3 cr. The course provides an overview of the basic neurological and physiological systems of the body while exploring typical and atypical development. Disabilities common in infants, children and adolescents (such as, seizures, cerebral palsy) are examined with a focus on educational adaptations and accommodations. Various models of service provision are contrasted. Collaborative strategies for working with students with physical disabilities and health impairments are developed.
