SPED 8917 - Assessment/Strategies for Students with Disabilities 3 cr. This course prepares candidates to employ the processes and terminology utilized in assessment. Graduate students will evaluate students with moderate or severe disabilities (or suspected disabilities) using formal assessment tools, background information and observations. Information gathered will be synthesized and interpreted to select appropriate strategies and plan effective programs. Candidates will develop components of the students IEP that pertain to the areas assessed. Required 15 hour prepracticum.
Prerequisite(s): SPED 8016 and SPED 8915 or SPED 8916 . Corequisite(s): Take concurrently with SPED 9130 or SPED 8918
