EDUC 2600 - Developmentally Appropriate Practices and Programs for Young Children 3 cr. 3 hr. Day course offered in the Fall.
This course emphasizes the grasp of early childhood developmental theory in designing engaging, varied, standards-based instruction for young learners. Candidates consider diversity, strengths, and challenges to promote children’s cognitive, physical, and social growth. Authentic field experience encourages communication, community outreach, observation, family participation, and collaboration. A pre-practicum of 15 hours is required. Required for all Early Childhood Education Majors.
Prerequisite(s): Successful Passage of Communication and Literacy MTEL. (Both Reading and Writing Subtests).
