IDIS 8000 - Critical Inquiry in Interdisciplinary Studies 3 cr. The course is designed to enhance students’ abilities to read and listen critically, to respond reflectively to arguments offered by others, to distinguish between successful and unsuccessful arguments, and to generate well-formed arguments of their own. In a broad sense, the course is intended to introduce students to philosophical argumentation and reflection, and to develop skills of reading, writing, and argumentation that are valuable in a number of academic and everyday contexts.
