ENGL 8750 - Advanced Special Methods in English 3 cr. The approach in this course for the Post-Baccalaureate Certificate for Initital Licensure provides a holistic framework for teaching secondary English emphasizing the interrelatedness of all language abilities: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. We experiment with and evaluate a variety of teaching strategies for creating responsive, reflective, and responsible readers, writers, and speakers as well as methods for the assessment of student performance. A prepracticum is required.
Prerequisite(s): ENGL 2860 or 7016, and ENGL 4700 or or equivalent and a 2.75 overall GPA and 3.0 in the major, Communication/Literacy MTEL and Subject Area Exam.
