COMM 2800 - Journalism


3 cr. 3 hr. Day course offered every Semester.

This course covers central principles and practices of journalism. Students will study ideas of credibility, accuracy, the First Amendment, the roles and responsibilites of the press, and the function of the journalist within a democratic society. Students will discuss the challenges facing the industry, the impact of changing priorities, and consumption of news products. This course will provide a foundation for students interested in professional news writing. (Credit is not given for both COMM 2800 and ENGL 2800 .) CL, DP
