ENGL 2020 - Style Studio

3 cr. 3 hr. Offered every other year

This workshop-based studio course encourages students to increase their stylistic flexibility by practicing rhetorical and literary devices, copying stylistic models, and adapting and inventing unique styles. Students will analyze short written texts from a wide range of styles and genres, rewrite pieces in diverse styles, and attempt to forge the styles of the authors we read. The course helps writers break from their stylistic habits and experiment with new ways to use language and explore their voice. AIA, PL
