ART 2700 - Baroque Art

Art History. This course will explore the art and architecture of Europe in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, featuring artists such as Bernini, Velazquez, Vermeer and Rembrandt. We will investigate how art informs and is informed by the religious, political, and socio-economic concerns of the period, and how the tensions and desires of the producers and consumers of art were negotiated through cultural artifacts.
