ART 3500 - History of Modern Architecture

This course covers architecture from the Neoclassical period to the present day. Topics may include: Neoclassicism, Gothic revival, the Arts and Crafts movement, Art Nouveau, Bauhaus, International Style, Postmodernism, sustainability and green architecture, industrial design, landscape design and urbanism. The sociopolitical context of modern architecture and the theories that shaped it will be emphasized.
