Decoding Your Genome introduces the knowledge and applications of human genetics. Students will explore how their genome shapes their sense of self as well as their understanding of the human condition. Students will learn the basic science underlying the inheritance of traits, molecular genetics, and introductory genomics. This foundational knowledge will be used to explore the role genetic variation plays in human health, identity, and history. Laboratories are designed to introduce students to basic scientific techniques while emphasizing problem solving and data analysis.
