CHEM 1000 - Chemistry in a Changing World 3 Credit(s) Offered: fall
This is a chemistry course for non-science majors only. The purpose of this course is to provide a basic knowledge of chemistry so that one can understand many of the real-life situations that have a foundation in chemistry. This will be accomplished by considering real-world situations, many of which have an environmental focus: for example, the ozone hole, global warming, energy, carbon footprint, water, acid rain, air pollution, basic organic chemistry, green chemistry and the concept of sustainability. Lecture and lab.
