CHEM 4850 - Methods in Teaching Chemistry (8-12) II 3 Credit(s) Offered: Fall
This course focuses on content pedagogy at the secondary level. Teacher candidates design and implement standards-based instruction and assessments that are aligned with best practices for teaching and learning in their content area. Special emphasis is placed on employing a variety of instructional practices and classroom management strategies that provide learning opportunities for diverse student populations and enhance multicultural pluralism. A pre-practicum of 25 hours is required. Students pursuing initial licensure will be required to complete two ESE required Gateway Tasks in this course. Candidates must pass the Gateway Tasks to pursue licensure and to enroll in Practicum. Cross-listed with BIOL 4850 and SCI 4850
