Engineering Technology
The Engineering Technology Department is unique at Fitchburg State University in that it offers two major degree programs and seven concentrations, including:
• Bachelor of science in Education, with a major in Technology Education (120 semester hours)
• Bachelor of science in Industrial Technology (120 semester hours), with concentrations in Architectural Technology, Construction Technology, Electronics Engineering Technology, Energy Management Technology, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, and Technical Theatre.

Liberal Arts and Sciences Requirements
For students in the bachelor of science in Technology Education and the bachelor of science in Industrial Technology, all concentrations: Note:
* Not required for Construction or Theater Concentrations.

Requirements for the Major in Industrial Technology
The concentrations offered in the Industrial Technology program were developed with the intention of providing a pool of highly skilled technologists who can sustain the needs of industry within the Commonwealth to function in a project management capacity, including:
The concentrations include:
- Architectural Technology
- Construction Technology
- Electronics Engineering Technology
- Energy Management Technology
- Manufacturing Engineering Technology
- Technical Theatre
Computer Literacy requirement is met through ITEC 1720, Computers in Industrial Technology.
Speaking/Listening requirement along with Jr/Sr Writing requirement is met through ITEC 1700, Evolution of Industrial Technology.
Construction Technology Concentration 120 Cr.
The Construction Technology concentration provides students with knowledge and skills essential for effective construction management practice. Students are exposed to a planned sequence of courses preparing them to function in a project management capacity, including the coordination of workers, materials, subcontractors, and local, state, and federal regulatory agencies.
Additional Requirements
An additional 15 semester hours of Industrial Technology or declared minor electives are required to complete the program. |
