Disability studies is an interdisciplinary minor housed within the Behavioral Sciences Department that offers an integrated approach to the study of disability. The undergraduate Disabilities Studies minor provides students with a broad understanding of the social constructs of disability and the opportunity to learn American Sign Language. Students will develop an interdisciplinary understanding of the cultural constructions of human ability, diversity and the intersection of disability with other social markers such as race, gender, sex, age, and economic status. A minimum of 18 credits is required.
The minor is open to any student in good academic standing at the university.
