Sociology Minor

There is a core of 9 semester hours including:

• SOC 1100 - Introduction to Sociology 3 cr.
• SOC 3160 - Social Theory 3 cr.
• SOC 3001 - Social Research Methods: Qualitative 3 cr. or
• CJ 2130 - Criminal Justice Research Methods 3 cr. * or
• HMSV 2050 - Research Methods in Human Services Practice 3 cr. or
• PSY 2040 - Research Methods and Statistics 1 3 cr. or
• PSY 2000 - Research Design and Analysis I 4 cr. or
• PSY 2110 - Introduction to Research Methods 3 cr.

Note:

The remaining 9 semester hours may be selected according to student needs and interests from Sociology electives.

*If the Research Methods course is taken outside of the Sociology program, an additional 3 credits of Sociology electives must be taken to complete the minor.
