Objective for the Game Programming Concentration in Computer Science
In addition to the objectives of all the Computer Science majors, the Game Programming Concentration will prepare students to apply their computer science skills in game development and mobile programming areas.
The Computer Science Program offers the opportunity for students to develop a unique blend of knowledge and skills in the areas of computer software and computer hardware. The program provides sufficient theoretical background for continued learning. It also provides practical skills to prepare the students for professional careers in the rapidly changing field of computer science. Students develop good communication skills and the ability for teamwork and leadership roles in their professional careers.
The Game Programming Concentration will prepare students to apply their computer science skills in game development and mobile programming areas.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Analyze a complex computing problem and to apply principles of computing and other relevant disciplines to identify solutions
- Design, implement, and evaluate a computing-based solutions to meet a given set of computing requirements in the context of the program’s discipline
- Communicate effectively in a variety of professional contexts
- Recognize professional responsibilities and make informed judgments in computing practice based on legal and ethical principles
- Function effectively as a member or leader of a team engaged in activities appropriate to the computer science discipline
- Support the delivery, use, and management of information systems within an information systems environment

- A minimum of 6 credits in Natural Sciences (currently defined as BIOL, PHYS, CHEM and GEOG) with SI attributes that include lab component.
- One CS Electives at or above 3000 level *
* At most 6 internship credits can count towards the required CS electives.
