PHIL 2600 - Philosophy of Human Nature


3 cr. 3 hr. Day course offered every Semester. Also offered evenings.

The course provides an exploration of human nature or personhood from the triple perspectives of philosophy, religion and behavioral science in a historical and cultural context. The class focuses on the following thinkers and movements: Plato’s idealism and Hinduism, Aristotle’s realism, early and medieval Christianity, Renaissance and Enlightenment thought, Marxism, Freud, existentialism, Frankl’s logotherapy, Skinner, Fromm’s humanism, Darwinian theories and personalism.
