CSC 1002 - Computational Thinking


3 cr. 3 hr. Offered every semester.

This is a breadth-first introductory course to computer science and computational thinking. This course provides a survey of computer science, computer programming, algorithms, data structures, and other areas including programming languages, object-oriented programming, graphical user interfaces, artificial intelligence, operating systems, etc.  Students will learn to think computationally in solving computable problems as well as learn the basics of using variables, conditionals, and loops in creating a programmatic solution.    SMT

Prerequisite(s):
i. ‘passing’ score on Advanced Algebra and Functions Accuplacer placement exam OR

ii. Successful completion of MATH 0500  [Algebraic Prep.]
