ART 2100 - Asian Art 3 cr. 3 hr. Day course offered every two years in the Fall.
Art History. This course covers the history of art of this region: from its earliest foundations in India through China and Japan as well as sections on Indonesia, Southeast Asia and Korea. Students will learn to analyze and discuss the various aspects and styles of Asian painting, sculpture, architecture and crafts within their historical and religious contexts. Students will begin to see in new ways and to identify how the art of these countries reflects the values of their cultures. There may be some hands-on work in this course: in brushwork, martial arts and perhaps the Japanese tea ceremony. AOM, ART, GDAN, FA, DP
