CHEM 1300 - General Chemistry I 4 cr. 6 hr. Day course offered in the Fall, Spring, and Summer
The course explores the fundamental laws and theories of chemistry such as atomic structure, the periodic table, electrochemistry, descriptive inorganic chemistry, the gas laws, solutions, equilibrium calculations and chemical bonding. Chemical calculations are emphasized. Biology and Chemistry majors must earn a grade of 2.0 or higher in this course in order to continue in these majors. SMT, PL, SI
Prerequisite(s):
i. ‘passing’ score on Advanced Algebra and Functions Accuplacer placement exam OR
ii. Successful completion of MATH 0500 [Algebraic Prep.]
