ENGL 3075 - Editing and Publishing

3 cr. 3 hr. Offered every fall semester.

Strong writing comes from good editing. This class explores different types of editing – developmental, line-editing, and proofreading – for the various stages in the editorial process. Students also learn about the relationship and collaboration between editors, writers and agents,- the submission and selection process, writing for special markets, and trends or practices in publishing. Students produce an issue of Route 2, the campus literary journal, and hone their editorial abilities through applied projects. IHIP
