EDUC 3045 - Teaching the Whole Child

The goal of this course is to provide teacher candidates with practical knowledge, skills and strategies to apply to their teaching at the beginning of each school year and throughout the year. Participants will experience goal setting, norms for collaboration, class meetings, academic choice and logical consequences and be able to use these on their own. The effectiveness of using teacher language for the purpose of redirecting, reminding and reinforcing will be explored as well as the implications of developmental milestones on students’ academic, social, and emotional behaviors
