The human services minor offers students the opportunity to learn evidence-based approaches and theoretical frameworks for effective work across lines of diversity, in order to become agents of change and address unmet human needs. Students in the human services minor study and practice strategies for problem solving and empowerment with individuals, families, groups, communities, organizations, and society as a whole, through evidence-based assessment, intervention, policy advocacy, and community organizing.To complete the human services minor, students must complete at least 18 credits of human services courses, including the following core courses (9 credits) that provide foundational introduction to the skills and knowledge base of effective human services:
