COUN 8220 - Counseling in the Elementary School

3 cr.

This course focuses on evidence-based K-8 comprehensive school counseling programs that equitably deliver services to all students. Candidates will practice: delivering developmentally appropriate multi-tiered systems of support; developing and presenting standards-based, outcome-focused lessons; appropriate documentation; consultation with parents, teachers, administrators and the community; and relevant ethical practice.
Note: A field-based experience (25 hr. minimum) is required for this course. Prerequisite: Admission to a Counseling Program
